Last week, Nothing CEO Carl Pei announced the launch of a new sub-brand called CMF by Nothing. This branch will focus on affordable prices and timeless designs, and will initially launch two products: a smartwatch and a pair of earbuds.
CMF has already registered these two products with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), with the smartwatch being designated as D395 and the earbuds as B163. This means that India will be among the first countries to welcome the new sub-brand.
Nothing has had a presence in India since its very first product, the Ear 1 true wireless earbuds. However, this will be the first time that the company has launched a smartwatch in the country. No details have yet been released about the smartwatch, such as whether it will run on Wear OS or a more restricted platform.
A quick search of the FCC database reveals that the manufacturer listed for the smartwatch has previously built headphones for brands such as JVC, HMDX, EMTEC, and Blackweb. However, no smartwatches have been found under this manufacturer's name. The manufacturer listed for the earbuds has previously built headsets for Monster and Cambridge Soundworks. As more information about the CMF by Nothing smartwatch and earbuds becomes available, we will be sure to update you.
